Why Long-Tail Keywords Work Better Than Ever Now

There are two types of people who do organic searches online:

  • Surfers
  • Buyers

Surfers are only looking for free information or free entertainment and most of them have no intention of buying anything.

Buyers, on the other hand, are searching for a specific product which is why they use long-tail keywords (phrases) and not single words when researching.

This is why long-tail keywords are so important, because they target buyers, and long-tail keywords are more specific so they target the right buyers.

Also, there are currently many more searches for specific long-tail keywords because of people doing voice searches through their home hubs and using Siri.

So make sure you use the correct keywords in your URL, the title tag of your webpage, and in your body text, because 70% of search queries are now long-tail keywords.

So don't skimp on them or your lose sales.

How to Avoid the Horrible Mistake Most Article Marketers Make With Long-Tail Keywords

Using long-tail keywords (or key phrases, as they’re sometimes called) instead of short keywords, is incredibly effective for getting the right kind of traffic to your site.

Short (or single) keywords will get traffic to your site, but not the right traffic because your words are not specific enough.

and long-tail keywords are so important because they generate 70% of all organic searches.

Some people ask why it’s better to use a long-tail keyword that only gets 250 searches a month instead of a shorter one that gets 250,000.

The answer is because those people searching the more popular keyword are mostly just browsing and not looking to buy anything, plus there is much more competition for those words so it’s unlikely that anyone will visit your site because your site won’t show up on Google's first page of search results.

But using the right keywords isn’t enough and there is one important thing you need to do that most beginner marketers miss. And that is, using related words in your content. This is known as content relevance.

In other words, the words you use in your content must be closely related to the main long-tail keyword you’re targeting.

And you can find these relevant words by doing a quick Google search to see what appears in the drop-down box of the search bar.

For instance, when I looked up “Pizza Recipe” the dropdown box also included:

pizza bases

pizza crust

pizza recipe easy

pizza toppings

pizza dough recipe

pizza recipe ideas

best pizza recipe

So for more targeted results, your content needs to have words that are specifically related to your keyword.

Don’t make the keyword marketing mistake that most beginners make in thinking that all they have to do is repeat their long-tail keyword several times in their body copy.

What makes for better search results and more sales is relevant content.

The Simplest Way To Do Article Marketing Through Social Media

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like using social media. But these days it’s a necessary evil if you’re working online.
So I devised a way of letting social media work for me without my using it.
What I do is, I set up my blog articles to automatically post to Facebook and Twitter. That way, whenever I write an article, it gets automatically linked to on Twitter and the Twitter link I set up, feeds directly to my Facebook page so that my article gets automatically posted there too.
I also use EzineArticles.com for my most of my article marketing and those are also linked to my social media accounts so the links to them get automatically posted on Twitter and Facebook too.
This is great because it means all I do is write and publish articles and they all get linked to from my social media accounts automatically.
Naturally, it also helps if I Tweet about my articles a couple more times a day too, but mostly I just set it and forget it.
So remember that even if you don’t like using social media, others do, so use automated posting to your advantage and you can get involved without having to get involved.

Marketing With Article Directories and How to Have More Impact

Marketing With Article Directories and How to Have More Impact

One of my favourite ways to do article marketing is to use an article directory called EzineArticles.com.

A few years ago it was one of the best ways to market using articles and I used to get huge amounts of traffic to my site instantly just by publishing one article on EzineArticles.com

But now it’s not as popular as it used to be since Google stopped indexing article directories, so my marketing articles have stopped showing up in search results. But marketing this way does still work, and that is the important thing.

And what you must do if you want to have the biggest impact with your article marketing is to submit your articles to different categories on EzineArticles.

That’s because the more categories you submit to, the more people will see your articles. So don’t just write one article, write 3 and submit them to 3 different categories.

As an example, for an article like this one that you’re reading right now, I’d consider the categories of Writing, Business > Productivity, Self-Improvement > Goal Setting.

To get started, just pick one topic. Write a long article for your own site, pick 3 categories, then write 3 short articles for the 3 different categories.

Submit one short article each day for 3 days, or one every 2nd day, each with a link back to the main article on your site.

Give it a try and see how it can help your article marketing efforts.

And your marketing articles can go on working for you for years.

And soon, I’m going to tell you how you can automate your social media accounts so that your articles get even more traffic.
